(And now, for the details...)
"We're getting a reshoot!"
Not far from where Vince originally proposed, the wedding ceremony began at 10:30 AM in the same place where they realized they had feelings for each other: the skeet field*. Yes, that is correct - the wedding was held at a shotgun range.
This particular location was along a peninsula that juts into San Pablo Bay. It is a picturesque setting where you can see across the water to Marin and Mt. Tamalpais, the hills of Sonoma to the North west and the flatland marsh area of Napa county directly North. You can also seen Point Pinole in the immediate North East direction.
"I thought we were sharing that!" - Trish
The ceremony lasted about half an hour. Afterwards, the newlyweds, friends, and family made their way over to the clubhouse.
Lunch was ready around noon! To fill in the time in between, there were opportunities to soak in the views of the bay & guests were encouraged to entertain their inner shutter bugs.
Since the wedding took place during a small sliver of time where the county began allowing larger groups of people to meet, a small cutting cake was ordered.
Matching cupcakes from the same batch allowed friends and family to gather while respecting social distancing!
"Option high house... Pull!" - Vince
After lunch, the couple put a new spin on "shotgun wedding" and "have a round on us" by inviting friends and family to reconvene back at the skeet field where the ceremony was held around 1 PM to come out and shoot some clays!
Some folks never shot skeet before... no worries! Trish & Vince had enough shotguns to loan around. They covered the cost of ammo, clays, and basic ear/eye protection (PPE). Friends and guests that are shooters were encouraged to bring their PPE as well as their favorite shotgun.
